Refund timelines vary depending on the type of transaction, the payment method used, and the nature of the issue. SkyPay strives to process all refunds as quickly as possible within the regulatory framework.
2. Standard Refund Timelines
The following are typical refund processing times for different transaction types:
- UPI Failed Transactions (auto-reversal): T+1 to T+5 working days
- UPI Disputed Transactions: 7–15 working days after investigation
- Unauthorised Transactions: Up to 10 working days (per RBI circular)
- Mobile/DTH Recharge Failures: 3–7 working days
- Bill Payment Failures: 3–7 working days
- Merchant Disputes: 5–15 working days after resolution
- Wallet Refunds: Instant to 24 hours
'T' refers to the date the refund is initiated, not the date you raised the complaint. Working days exclude weekends and bank holidays.

Several factors may cause delays in refund processing:
- Bank holidays and weekends (non-working days)
- High transaction volumes during festivals or sales events
- Technical issues at the bank or NPCI level
- Incomplete or incorrect information in the refund request
- Complex disputes requiring merchant or third-party investigation
- RBI or NPCI system maintenance windows
5. Tracking Your Refund
You can track the status of your refund in real time through the SkyPay app.
- Go to Help → My Disputes → Select the complaint
- View the current stage: Initiated → Processing → Completed
- Estimated completion date shown for each refund
- Push notifications sent at each stage change
- Contact support if the refund is overdue beyond the estimated date
6. Expedited Refunds
In certain cases, SkyPay offers expedited refund options:
- Wallet Refund: Instant credit to your SkyPay wallet for future transactions
- Priority Processing: Available for SkyPay Premium users
- Escalation: Refunds pending beyond the standard timeline can be escalated for priority handling
Wallet refunds are the fastest option. You can transfer the wallet balance to your bank account at any time.
